Leanne O'Donnell
My introduction to Taiji and Qigong began 18 years ago and I have been teaching for four years.
Initially I was reluctant to teach. I had always regarded Taiji and Qigong as a personal retreat and thought perhaps teaching would somehow change that. Little did I know! I discovered that it is when you become a teacher that you really start learning!
I have learnt that people hear differently, have different bodies and therefore I want to teach with flexibility, patience and a true desire to help.
I believe that Taiji principles can be taught with simplicity, without diluting its potency. In my classes I aim to pass on a thorough introduction to Qigong and Taiji, keeping it fun and simple, and delivering it in the context of health in a gentle exercise format.
As a teacher I feel a sense of achievement when my students share personal benefits they have gained through the classes. To be a part of other peoples learning and good health is indeed a privilege.
Being a member of Peter Caughey’s Forest Rock School provides me with a thorough grounding. With Peter I have an excellent teacher, supervisor and other like-minded people to train with.
Taiji is indeed incredibly rich, healthy, powerful and fulfilling and I look upon my opportunity to teach as a gift. I am sure without it; my existence would be much poorer.
To my teachers and my students I am profoundly grateful…THANK YOU.
